LULAC Food Drive

LULAC is doing our annual food drive. Each period 8 class has a food box. We are asking that you bring in non-perishable items for this drive. Each food box will be donated to a family in the Franklin Community so that families in our community may have food during the holiday season. the drive will open on Monday, November 9th and ends on Friday, December 4th. The period 8 class that brings in the most items will win a pizza party! If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Hazlett,
Mr. Barrera or Mr. McKinnon.

PLEASE NOTE: THE 2010 - 2011 OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATION WINDOW OPENS ON NOVEMBER 2, 2009 AND CLOSES ON DECEMBER 18, 2009

Dear parents,

Weld county School district 6 offers students the privilege of open enrollment into schools outside of their neighborhood school boundaries. Open enrollment requests for the 2010-2011 school year will be accepted by District 6 from November 2, 2009 through December 18, 2009.

While we are able to accommodate the vast majority of open enrollment requests district wide, we cannot approve requests for enrollment to schools (or specific grade-levels in a school) that are at or above capacity.

Students who are presently attending a school under open enrollment or transfer policies are NOT considered permanent students at the school. They must re-apply for an open enrollment to be considered for continued enrollment. Students transitioning from one school level to another (elementary school to middle school, or middle school to high school) will automatically be enrolled into their boundary school unless a new open enrollment application is approved.

Please bear in mind that students are open enrolled into schools outside of their neighborhood boundary area will not have school bus service to those schools; parents must provide transportation to and from school for their children.

Application forms to request open enrollment are available at every school office and the district's main office at 1025 ninth Avenue, in Greeley. Completed applications must be submitted on or before December 18, 2009 by 4:30 p.m. at the district's main office or at the school you are requesting your child to attend.

Schools will notify parents of their open enrollment status by Friday, February 5, 2010. For more information about open enrollment, please feel free to call my office at 348-6565.

Sincerely,

Mary B. Jones
